i did a search on reflashing the lly but all the other topics seemed like they were a couple months old. i talk to one of our local dealer and they said that an 05 already had all the updates and their is nothing that they can do. the other dealer said they can refash it and it will run smoother and get better milage. it looks like most people are happy with the reflash but there are a few that wish they didnt do it. my truck seems to run fine but im interested if it will help my mpg. does the mpg increase because they back the power down? does anyone know the date that the new flash came out? can old flash be reinstalled? i do not have a chip or anything. complete stock truck. any feedback would be great.

go to this website and see if there are any updates to your truck.
if you know someone with a predator diablosport tuner, you can read your calibrations on your truck at this present time and cross reference them.

if your truck is running good, then I would leave it alone. no need to break something that isn't broke.

the mpg gain, if any, isn't much. maybe 1mpg.
the power doesn't feel as if it is backed down, the truck will feel peppier. as far as an old flash being installed, i don't know of any tech that might do it. the new updates are put in place to compensate for areas where the old software had failed to do it's job.

what kind of mileage are you getting?
do you run any additives in your fuel?

if you want to increase mpg's, get a chip or diablosport from predator. that way, you can run dignostics with the diablosport and look at your injector balacing rates. plus you can change the tire size, move the speed limiter back and tune your truck to your needs. you don't need to run the big tunes, the 40hp and 65hp tunes will give you great satisfaction. the only problem with it is, once you get the taste of the hp increase, you'll want more. just need to contain yourself.

that is the best way to get better mpg's in my opinion.
