Most times my thruck starts fine, ocasionally I go to start it, the glow plugs run their cycle, I go to start and the electrical goes dead. The clock even resets. I can leave it for a bit an dit starts fine again. I was thinking it could be the starter, or it could be ground trouble at the starter. Anyone ever have this happen to them, or know what the trouble could be????? I have all new grounds ran to the motor, firewall, and frame.
Thanks

theoretically it should. But don't hold that to close as there is a difference between gasser and diesel operating systems(obviously)
X2 on the grounds. If it kills while starting theres a good chance that engine torquing from the starter is wiggling a ground loose enough to prevent sufficient gounding.

Check / qualify ALL batt & ground conections as well as your batt condition, these trucks don't handle bad conections well at all.

How old is your battery? Have you changed the battery cable lately? It is a 94, so if you have not change the positive cable (bat to bat, bat to starter, bat to alternator), probably long overdue. Get at least 2 ga for all of them, especially the one from pos bat to bat. Make sure you have done the battery mod, search for it.
