Any is a benefit as I see it with the USLD that is required for those with DPF. I use Stanadyne year round. I just double dose when temps get near zero. Also some 2-cycle oil ever now and then. But have used Power Service, some Lucas Oil product since it was free, and few others. Not notice a good or bad thing about any. I try to get LSD since no DPF and from what I see sometimes better mileage. It just depends on where one gets it.

I use Diesel Kleen or Lucas fuel, I have not tried Stanadyne except once years ago, cost v.s. D.K. is the reason.

Supposely if they have a solvent it is bad for the seals in the engine.
Stanadyne and Diesel Kleen does use a solvent, but D.K. claims they use a spectial type solvent. "DUH OK"

Lucas has no solvents, I know from personal use Lucas helps with mileage on a older gassers.
On Diesels, I feel the jury is still out, basicly on any of them.
I mainly want to add something because of the ULSD.

Stanadyne here. I have used in all my Duramaxes. The LMM and ULSD require the correct Stanadyne.

Amsoil Diesel Concentrate. My highway mpg is really good while using it.

Stanadyne Performance in every tank. It won't help mileage much but it does help lubricity.

Have you noticed an improvement with your exhaust being DPF back?

The sound is a little different. I haven't taken a long trip to check highway mileage. I did the muffler delete.

Off topic but I did a Filter back pipe (no tuner) and noticed no fuel economy change, no power increase, no sound change either! The ONLY thing I noticed was that the tone during REGEN was louder. It doesn't sound good or anything, I just hear the "boggy" deep tone louder when in regen.

Why do they even put mufflers on these things?? It had no use at all. The DPF is holding all the sound back.

Are you guys sure about putting Additives in the LMM WITH a DPF?? I see most of you have no DPF.

Curt, do you have any Sunoco stations where you are? if so you should try the diesel gold. All the protection you would get from Stanadyne is already in the fuel.It costs a little more but it's worth it to have it done for you.All around I would say my truck does run a bit smoother/quiter since switching from regular diesel

Been a few months now. How about any changes, benefits or overall improvements with a DPF back change on the exhaust?

I like the way the tip looks.... That is about it.

Mine REALLY seems to like RedLine Diesel Catalyst. It didn't seem to appreciate the DieselKleen AT ALL. I split a bottle of RL with two fill ups.

FUNNY about the DPF-BACK questions. There is another thread on here all about it. I've been trying to tell the guy that other than the TIP, there is NO DIFFERENCE. All of the restriction is ahead of the muffler. Yes, the muffler is a form of restriction, but it's a moot point after the DPF.

Many here have wasted money on the DPF-back setup. 90+% ended up going T-back. But, that's another thread alltogether.

I'm running a DPF (stock)....What additive to use?? I think I cannot use the stuff you guys can use because it will clog the DPF right?

I picked up Stanadyne at my dealer. It says that it is the low sulpher formula. I was told it is for DPF equiped trucks.

OK, that sounds good, but you do mean Ultra Low sulpher.

MPG has been an experiment that I have been paying close attention to since I bought the truck. In stock form I have used Diesel Kleen and never noticed any milage gains. It seems to be more quiet on start up but that may just be my imagination.
