Pros and cons. In the bed or where the spare tire mounts?

Ive seen where guys will un tank and all pumps'regulators into a truck box, that way you can disconnect whole system, back it up into the box, lock it and go to dealer ....

Either place works. There is also a spot between the frame rails. Short bed's ex cab's can only fit the 10x23 tank (6 gallon) long beds, can fit the 10x32 (8 gallon) tank.

I like the tool box, in the bed option, especially for those under warranty.

I have a couple other ones, but I don't know how to reduce them to fit. I'm amazed I got that one to post):h

Yes, Hoot has some great photos, his was bed mounted on a diamond plate pedestal. Very nice.

powershotone, If you are running windows xp download this http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe

After you install it you will be able just right click on the file, click on resize and it will resize it to your specs. Really simple and easy.

Thanks. I have Windows 2000 . They have one for that?

I had to put mine in the bed. Too big to put where the spare goes. (Tank holds 100 gals!) At least I only have to fill it every 3000 miles.

Marcdeluca - why such a big tank? Do you just not like filling it or something?

For one thing, I already had the big tank. I get 30 mpg on lp, so I use quite a bit. Also, I do long road trips and I don't want to buy it out on the road. I get it alot cheaper in bulk at home.

elowe65, I have some on my PC at home, but I am on a business trip for a few days. I'll post one when I get home.

Yes, Hoot had a very nice set up and install indeed.:ro)

The line to the air intake (between the filter and the turbo) is pressure rated fuel line hose. Because all of the regulation of the propane is done at the tank, there is no need for high pressure line running to or injecting into the engine.

I am interested in a little more information as to what and how on his installation.

I put the switches here..

http://www.getdieselpower.com/my01dmax_files/propane/dash.jpg

Ran the hoses up in through the stake pockets from the inside of the bed and down under the cab.

http://www.getdieselpower.com/my01dmax_files/propane/bigtank1_small.jpg

Plumbed to a simple nipple fitting and just threaded the pipe thread into the plastic intake. No nut on the inside to avoid loose parts falling into the intake

http://www.getdieselpower.com/my01dmax_files/propane/fitting/images/DSCN3097.jpg

Hooked up to the boost with the "T" fitting here.

Remember this is an 01 Dmax.

That pic is from when I first installed it. The truck always has a shell w/tinted windows on it. Mr. Tank likes to keep a low profile.
