: Upgrade EFI V1 from scan only to scan and tune?

I've sent an email yesterday to socaldiesel who I bought the V1 scan only version from a few years ago and haven't heard back yet. I wanted to know if it is possible to upgrade my current V1 scan only to the scan and tune version. I'd like to be able to put a mild tune on the truck for towing and ditch the Edge. That and adjust the speedo, overide the over boost code (maybe just take the PPE boost valve off if not needed anymore with a good tune), etc.

I found one website that does this, but is not a supporting vendor that I can tell and I'd like to keep it in house if possible so to speak. If any vendors will do this, please let me know and also whether you include a tune or two like the full version buys as well as toggle switch.

Help me finish the walk to the dark side... :D

Check out www.efilive.com . You can purchase the upgrade to tune on the V1 for $300 and the upgrade to a V2 unit with tune for like $550 roughly. I think on the V2 it is just some different registration keys so I assume the same for the V1. But give Socal a call and see what they can do for you. Many of the vendors can get swamped with email and takes time to go through all of them plus the loads of trash mail they get im sure. Also might check with Nick from www.duramaxtuner.com . Tyler from www.meyerperformance.com is starting to deal with EFILive some but unsure what all he does at the moment. Haven't visited him in a while to see whats new. Just seen a post on another diesel forum site about his new items. Might look through this section and find PM for Cindy. She can help you out as well. Just give it time they are in Australian so a defiant time zone wait.

Duh... Didn't even think of EFI website <<slaps forehead>> Thanks for the info on the other vendors as well, Brian.

Got an email back from Guy a little while ago, he will also allow me to upgrade from the V1 scan to the V1 scan and tune as well for $300 so looks like I'll be all set. As you said, I just didn't give it enough time. What can I say, I'm just too excited to give this a try. :D

For all others...beware of the newbie... ;) I'll try not to have too many stupid questions as I begin my journey.

Glad to hear that Guy got back to you and is taking care of your upgrade.

As for your newbie status, the only stupid questions are the ones that don't get asked.

Cheers

I'm officially upgraded. Sent my calibration file off to Guy for "tweaking". In the mean time I've already started poking around. Figured out the speedometer calibration and fuel tank size change for when I get my new file back. I know, easy peasy, and not difficult, but, baby steps here... :D
