You have to process it first.

Stuffing ears of corn down the fuel neck is not covered by warranty.

Let's get serious.

You blow a CP3 running commercial bio-diesel and your dealer hits you for a $2000 bill for replacing the pump. And then you run another tankful just to make sure and get another $2000 bill.

Is your friend on his 3rd tank yet?

GM says you can run a bio blend (%???), but not pure bio. But I guess many people are running bio with great luck. Since GM cannot verify the quality of all possible bio fuels, they are perfectly in their rights to refuse repairing fuel system damage for free. This is the same for all companies last I heard. I believe VW does not approve any level of bio fuel.

what happened is he put bio in and ran it for a while and the pump died, gm fixed it on warranty. when the second pump failed, the dealer inquired if he used any additives and asked what fuel he burned. he used no additives but used bio. they are even trying to bill him for the first pumpbecause he used bio.

Well you posted this in several places and first of all it does not make sense because there are people on here running bio and have never had any issues and then you get on here and all you have had and your friends have had is bad luck. Maybe you should look at getting another truck. I think you are Chevy doomed or maybe your truck does not like you driving it... Might want to reconsider...

What a Ride, thanks for the Clip.

Hope no one was hurt !

phazar,

Tell your friend to strain out the French Fries from his Bio Fuel, BEFORE he puts it in the Corn Hole. :banghead:

Why does this guy get 2 separate threads bad mouthing bio? I think one needs to be shut down.

Lets just face it, bio is far superior to the additives that are currently available. Injector cleaner, cetane booster and lubrication.

The only additive that is needed is an anti gel.

Bio does not ruin engine componets. Dirt, water, alchohol those things ruin engines.

GM says you can run a bio blend (%???)
Owner's manual says 5% bio diesel allowable. Some bio diesel already being used is as high as 20%. This is a no no and means you can't go go.

:blahblah::lol:

Some people are using B100. That's 100% bio for those of you who aren't keen on bio lingo. I've been using B20 and my truck loves it so far (about 2K miles).

I've been switching back and forth between b20 and straight conventional diesel for a few months (I'm comparing mileage). I have run one tank of B100 just to see how it handled it. Truck ran fantastic and was as quiet and smooth as a gasser. Unfortunately around here B100 is still to expensive to run full time. Event the b99 that gets the tax break is still a bit high.
