I have an 04.5 LLY and have been noticing at between 40 and 45 it has what feels like a drivetrain vibration. It feels like the back end is chattering, kind like going over a wash board on a dirt road. I hooked on my boat and the feeling was amplified.

Any one experience this or have any Ideas on what to look at?

Truck has 80k and is all stock.

Thanks,

Snowsdog

I have the same thing, found my drive shaft is "loose" at the tailshaft of the transfer case.
I don't know why yet, as I still have to do a teardown, but I see an output shaft, and bearings in my future. (will get the driveshaft balanced too)
Or, you have bad u-joints, check those first.
P.S. I'm sure this thread will be moved soon, as it does not pertain to the LLY. You would get a better response in the drive train section anyway.

Haven't had that problem yet, but from reading this form and other experience, I'd suggest as above, U-joints. Then look for oil leaks, diff or transfer case. Search form for Transfer case rub issue, leaks oil, then falls apart. Wish you luck in the fix.
A second thought....do you have a long bed crew cab? and the two piece drive line? Just more joints to check along with the center carrier bearing.

There is a service advisory out on this very issue. i had all the body mounts changed and my vibrtion went away. i was feeling the vibration at 45-60 and after several tire balance attempts i went to the dealership and found out about the advisory, and it fixed it

Do you have the advisory number that others can reference or check?

does it make this vibration at 1 certain rpm? Mine has done it since new any time rpm is right at 1700rpm ...sitting still or driving

What I feel, is speed sensitive, not rpm related. And I have a way out of warranty sloppy ouput shaft.

This was my fix for the very issue. Out of warranty, so I paid $125 to partsxoneonline.com for the parts. took care of about 70% of the shake. Some nice Toyo Open Country tires took care of most of the rest.
