Hey all. Crew cab..... Do the head rests come out of the back seat, for folding down? Tried and had no luck. Owners manual doesn't say that they come out. Just make sure they are in the lowest position.......

yes they do
get a small pick, I use a small drill bit, and stick it in the hole on the inside of the plastic base (where the rod for the headrest goes into the top of the seat) there should be a small little hole on all four of the plastic pieces. do one side at a time and pull up as you are doing it. they should just pop right out, if you still cant get it let me know and I will go take some pice for ya. -Jeff

What he said...

I carry a little 90° hex head driver in the ash tray....works perfect.

Thanx guys.

Put the back seats down today, getting ready for a cross country move. Moved both front seats ahead, to allow for.

I saw the hole, but never had the thought......

Thanks again.

Sean.

If you use a file or die grinder you can remove the lower portion of the last notch (making a V notch), and you can slip the headrests out with ease. I find it very handy.

Pretty moronic "feature", isn't it? What imbecile thought that it would be a good idea to need some type of tool in order to remove a head rest? You'd think something as simple as putting down the rear seat wouldn't require anything special...

Should be like the yukons and tahoes where they fold back, that would be alot easier.

Well. got em out. This is the first time I have had to do it, in three years of ownership.

Grinding sounds like an idea.

Thanx all.
