Well i always forget to post this on here and i jsut remembered. but when my truck gets all warmed up and im doing around 65ish i get a shutter and it wont go away unless i let off the gas. i dont feel it in my steering wheel but rather in the seat of my pants. i have a 700R4 tranny. and when it does this i am in OD but if i shift down in D it still does it but not as bad. Is it possable im about to drop my overdrive? or do i have a bad U joint or rear diff?

It could be your lock up solenoid. I had a similar problem with my tranny. The lock up solenoid will start to bypass pressure to the TQ when it gets hot letting the TQ slip a little. The clutch eventually warps from the slippage, causing the shutter.

My father also had the same problem in his 92, not sure if it was a 700R4 or the 4L60, but they work the same.

The tranny shop changed my solenoid and it cured mine right up. Lockup was firm and held solid.

It is just under the oil pan. Apparently it is very easy to change, but I didn't do it myself. I figured I was going to need a rebuild, so I just took to my local shop. He did some road tests and found that the lock up pressure was low.

He showed me the old solenoid and bench tested it with air for me. It was obvious how it was leaking. The construction of the older ones is quite poor. There is a new style they install and they cure the hot bypass problem.

If this is the problem and your converter is shuttering, it will be on its way out. Mine was just slipping under load, but not shuttering yet, so I didn't change it. As it turned out, the hub on my converter started leaking around the front seal from wear, so I had to change it anyway.

Ya, unfortunately you will...IF that's your problem.
Depending how old your truck it, it might not be a bad thing to change as preventative maintenance. I don't recall exactly how much the solenoid cost, but it was fairly cheap.

yes, you'll have to drop the pan, I would get a new filter/gasket and of course ATF.

okay well this is good then i guess cause i want to replace all of the fluids in my turck anyway. and i guess since ill have the pan off any way i might as well drop a shift kit in there =] lol
