I've got a 2004 Suburban that I put a 2004 LLy out of 2004 late model pick-up. My main concern is the best mileage I can get. I do some tag along towing a car trailer to and from Arizona from Mich. I only have about 1500 miles on it now and am getting about 15.5 with mixed city and highway use. What can expect and how do I achieve it.

how many miles are on the engine? From what most on here are experiencing, unloaded expect mid/upper teens, loaded 9-12mpg.

Unladen you should hit 17-21 mpg hwy with 4x4 auto 7500lb. City driving varies so much, that it's hard to give a reliable number. Mine varies from 9 to 15 city, depending on speed, stop lights, terrain, etc.

Thats quite a feat. How did you take care of the added weight. Did you use the Allison also. Got any pictures.

Will get some pictures when I get suburban washed. Snowed here yesterday. On weight I just adjusted torsion bars up to level the truck. I used a 2500 suburban with 6.0. It would of been better if the suburban had a 8.1. It would of had the right core support. Other than that it looks under the hood just like a pick-up. The body on the suburban had to be set up 2" higher off the frame to clear the transmission and larger rear axle. A farmer in Ohio did the work, he's done a few. Now he'e back on his tractor.
