Just wondering what other's experience is towing. I have a 6k travel trailer. When I start off from a dead stop, after maybe 5~7 feet there's a slight shudder that could easily be mistaken for a bumpy road. However, I find it hard to believe that it's always bumpy everywhere I stop. Trans and rear end fluids are fine w/ no apparent leaks (using grape juice in the rear and dex III in the trans, which just got changed about 6k ago). One other note: just a few weeks ago I was on the up side of a steep overpass at a light with the trailer in tow. I throttled it hard when the light went green and it definately slipped (as far as I can tell anyway, as I recall, I wasn't going, got a positive abnormal response, and it caused me to immediately back off the throttle).

I guess I'm wondering if all this is normal or not, or has this forum made me hypersensitive to every little thing. I'd like to know if a slip in the rear end or trans would throw a code, and or how I could tell if it's the rear end or trans slipping. And of course, what I can do about it (outside of a trans upgrade!).

thanks!

Sounds like "driveline shudder". or as GM called it "launch acceleration shudder". Go to search, tons of info about 1 yr ago. I solved mine with Firestone air bags.
