Has anyone had any egt issues with the bullydog power pup ? I pull a 10k 5er. I currently have no gauges. I have only use it once on 40hp gain setting while pulling. I like the extra power, but I don't want to have any problems. No cash for a controller right now. Thanks for any help Randy

you really do need gauges.... 400.00 for the whole gauge and a pillar package now.... or 9K for a new motor.
Easy choice IMHO
ok do I get the piller or the controller or would just a pyro work?

either one... you need to know what is happening with
egt's most importantly.
Is it important to have the defueling options that are on the controllers?

Is it important to have the defueling options that are on the controllers? It will help to save the transmission clutches from wear and tear yes. It is a good idea to have that option..... transmissions can be built up stronger.

i deal with the monitors every day, and i would put a set of gauges in it any day over a monitor. I have gauges and no monitor in my own truck if that says anything. Just seem to have too many problems with monitors, especially bullydog monitors, sometimes speed doesn't read, other times it doesn't defuel. I think its better to keep an eye on the temp regardless as i have seen some trucks go right past the defuel mark and keep heating up.
ok, can you tell me what brand pyro gauge is good ?
is a boost gauge needed or is that just more for info and not really necessary?

It's only needed so far as the fact that i don't think they make a 1 gauge pillar pod and it'd look funny with only one hole filled. Although if you ask trippin real nice he might make you a one gauge version of the famous Trippin overhead gauge mount.
Actually, i guess the boost gauge is useful for problem solving if something is wrong with the motor. That's the only info I could find on it, i had the same question myself.
ok thanks, maybe I'll have to mount one in the dash
where's the best spot to go through the fire wall ?

I have my PowerPup set at 95HP and never get over 1050 degrees when I jump on it. I have stock exhaust as well. I went with the autometer gauges for Pyro and Boost.

That must be on flat ground. I easily see 1100 when climbing hills unloaded @ 65 mph. That is on the middle setting too!
