I am new to this board. I have been reading through all the threads and learning more than I can remember. Most of the threads pertain to the years 97 and older. I just bought a 99' 3500 a couple months ago and recieved all the maintance and repair records with the sale. The vehicle was driven by sellers wife in town miles most of the time. The truck has never pulled a load. Other than replacing the 1-IP, 1-Turbo, and 1-Tranny, there has only been regular maintance done on it at the local dealer. Since I have had it, no problems yet. The truck is completly stock. Seller was in need for money and I bought it for $12,500. It is a 3500 4x4 4door with 90,000 miles in great shape. My question is, did they have many of the problems that I have been reading about resolved by 99'? I have many more questions over the next few days.

Sounds like you struck a fair deal. keep looking and digging you'll find info on the later 6.5's.

maybe read about different casts and low allow content coupled with oil spray channels in the mains.
