I keep hearing about Duramax dulleys coming with 4.10 gears. I admit to getting old and senile but I am sure I would have remembered that. Did I go to sleep and and miss something? Later! Frank

I just checked the GM Buy Power website and there is no option for the rear axle. 3.73 only. My D-Max revs high enough with a 3.73!!! I wouldn't be able to do more than 60 MPH with 4:10's and still get any type of decent fuel mileage! You may see 4:10's with the 6 speed Allison going in the '06's though!

I also checked the 06 ordering guide hoping for axle options, but it is still 3.73's

Probably wont see a 4.10 choice with the Dmax at all.. Unless you're ordering a 4500 or higher.

why would you ever want a 4.10

seems foolish to me. if you really want it, you will go find one and put in it.

it is a waste of fuel IMO and is not needed even for hauling big loads. if 605lbft is not enough then tough sh!t get a programer.

A set of 4.10s will allow you to put on 34 inch tall tires and have the same final ratio as the 3.73s and the stock 30.9 inch tires.

I have 4.10 in my truck for 3 reasons, 1st it allows me to truck pull in the next higher gear and 2nd it helps with 60' times at the track since I weight in at 8470lb's. 3rd it pulls like a freight train if you need pulling power.

Got 'em. Albeit after the lift and tires. Can't imagine what you'd want with 'em without a lift and big tires, unless you had a 6 speed Ally with serious OD. Brought my final ratio back to 3.62.

Because I'd much rather be running my 37 inch BFG's than the 35's I dropped down to!!! And I still would be able to pull like the freight train that is is. As good as she runs with the programer, I want more grunt!!! ):h
