DZZ71 06-03-2009, 02:28 AM Congrats man.
wewers8 06-03-2009, 05:50 PM anybody got a lbz mouth piece for sale
MarkBroviak 06-03-2009, 08:29 PM You are welcome buddy, and you actually bought the 2.6 Stage 2 Kit! I have an LBZ mouthpiece in stock if you need one still. Call Larry first thing and he can get it taken care of, no problem. I will also get you a new tune sent out for your new setup so everything will be good to go when you get it on. Changing the turbo isn't to bad just takes tools and some patience. Most important tool is a 1/2" 12mm 12-point socket and a flex head 1/2" rachet to get the up-pipe bolts loose and a swivel 17mm to get the three turbo to block bolts, they are a real pita to get to.

MarkBroviak 06-03-2009, 10:58 PM It really sucks when they break, huh Mark? ;)
Yes Ted, it sucks when they break, specially in the turbo pedastal! Atleast I was able to get them out.:D
wewers8 06-03-2009, 11:04 PM why yall gotta talk bad like that. :(
BIGBLOCKBILL 06-03-2009, 11:05 PM Mine's on the way also, should be here by Friday. Going to put it on the fresh motor this weekend and hopefully get it up and running. Almost 2 years without a Duramax, it'll be like buying a new truck, lol. Now to get the pullin truck fixed.
BTW, thanks for getting everything moving for me so quickly Mark, you and Larry are on the ball.:D
MarkBroviak 06-03-2009, 11:07 PM It happens, sorry buddy. Ted drove out from PA for me to do some work on his truck, and a couple of his bolts broke while I was changing his up-pipes out for him.
wewers8 06-03-2009, 11:08 PM yeah others may copy them but they cant keep un in the customer service dept. they are awesome.:thumb:

BIGBLOCKBILL 06-04-2009, 11:41 PM I got mine bolted to the long block this evening, hopefully I'll get it in and running by Sunday. If it works as good as it looks I'm gonna be one happy camper.:D
Magilla 06-05-2009, 09:16 AM Mark, did you get my PM about pricing for this turbo?
wewers8 06-06-2009, 10:02 PM well guys its in there and it made a big difference. cant do any tuning yet because SOMEONE has me locked out of my ecm lol. but happy over all.
deerejohn 06-06-2009, 10:17 PM Hows the throttle response? and congrats on the turbo.
wewers8 06-06-2009, 10:31 PM The throttle reponse is a lot better. I def. recommend it to anyone.
BIGBLOCKBILL 06-06-2009, 11:55 PM Glad to hear you got yours running wewers8. I got my pile running tonight too. Tuned out pretty well for rebuilding it myself. Just took it for a quick run with a stock tune and injectors for now. Throttle response is way better, but it lays down on the top due to lack of fuel. The sound is wicked to say the least, it brought a smile to everyone's face in the shop. I'm going to load Mark's tune tomorrow and start playing. Hopefully my injectors will be here next week.
wewers8 06-06-2009, 11:58 PM Done yet???
you got a commerical cable to spare so i can put my tunes in mark. LOL:D
MarkBroviak 06-07-2009, 01:02 PM Opps, sorry buddy, ship it back to me and I will fix it for you.

Yeap, they sure will be! Glad to hear you are enjoying it!:D
Horsehaulin 06-07-2009, 02:11 PM Nicely done Mark, I might be next, just have to work on finding. The chicken farm is rough on me this year.
BIGBLOCKBILL 06-07-2009, 02:18 PM Well, I got the tune loaded and took it for a ride. I'm having fueling issues, it's only getting about half of the commanded rail pressure. I put a used LBZ pump on it, could the pump or regulator be bad? Changed the fuel filter and lift pump is on. Injectors all look good also. Thanks in advance for any help.
Horsehaulin 06-07-2009, 02:25 PM Did you change the regulator voltage table from a LLY to a LBZ?
BIGBLOCKBILL 06-07-2009, 02:28 PM No we didn't, what's the value?
Horsehaulin 06-07-2009, 02:32 PM I have to pull it up and look, give me a minute, that if I can find it again.
Horsehaulin 06-07-2009, 02:37 PM Mark, I cant find it! Do you have it?
MarkBroviak 06-07-2009, 02:50 PM Yeah, give me a second, I was reading on CompD.
Horsehaulin 06-07-2009, 02:51 PM Deleted my last post due to it likely being wrong.
Mark, could you send me that also. I have a LBZ CP3 waiting and I cant find my info for that.

Hey Bill,
went through the tune and no we didn't change the voltages so technically speaking you should be over pressurizing instead of under. Something is wrong there with it. Mostly like something with that pump. If you can get ahold of a Tech2 then do a fuel pressure control test to see if it works like it should or if you have a rail pop off valve issue. There is something wrong in the supply side of the system.
BIGBLOCKBILL 06-07-2009, 03:01 PM Isn't this just for idling issues? My truck idles fine and pulls up to 1500 or so them falls off.
BIGBLOCKBILL 06-07-2009, 03:05 PM Thanks Mark and Horsehaulin. I had a feeling it was the pump, but I thought by chance it might have been a programming issue. I'll try the regulator first and see what happens.
MarkBroviak 06-07-2009, 03:06 PM No, it actually affects it across the board due the the LBZ having twice the control range of the LB7 and LLY. I have a LBZ pump tune and yours up on my screen and they are actually pretty close so there is definitely something wrong there. No problem, Bill that is what I am here for. I will send you the corrected tune for the pump also
Horsehaulin 06-07-2009, 03:07 PM I didnt do anything, Mark is the man with the plan. I just got his attention :p:
MarkBroviak 06-07-2009, 03:15 PM You have Mail Bill. It shouldn't actually fix the problem but when you do it will be ready for the LBZ pump. Thanks agian.
BIGBLOCKBILL 06-07-2009, 05:23 PM We got the truck running like it's supposed to. I pulled a rookie move and didn't get the FPRV tight enough. Gave it about a quarter turn and the rail pressures came right up. We did the bottle test to figure it out and it puked about a gallon of diesel after filling up the bottle during a 2 minute test ride.
After we fixed my screw up the truck ran great, bottom end response is way better than stock, not enough fuel on top yet to see a huge gain. Come on injectors!
Thanks for the updated tune Mark I'll load it and go for another ride.

Glad to hear the CP3 was not bad! And to hear you got it running good, keep us posted after the injectors are in.
BIGBLOCKBILL 06-07-2009, 05:29 PM I'll take an easy to fix error on my part any day over having to change the main CP3.:D
MarkBroviak 06-07-2009, 08:28 PM No doubt, the pump is a pain to change out. Good to hear Bill.
wewers8 06-07-2009, 09:45 PM I'll take an easy to fix error on my part any day over having to change the main CP3.:D
proud you got it all figured out. i hate that feeling when you work like a dog for a day or so and run into a freaky problem like that. i swear to Mark all the time my truck is got it out for me.
BIGBLOCKBILL 06-07-2009, 10:02 PM Mine was a little more than a day job. I started last weekend with a bare block and a big pile of parts. With all the new stuff I was imagining the worst for the fueling problem. I feel much better now that it runs right and we can work on making it run even better.:D
Now I've got one more to rebuild and at least all my diesels run. I'll be years fixing all the gassers. I'll guess I'll leave something behind for my kids to work on in their retirement.:p:
wewers8 06-08-2009, 07:02 PM yeah i found a small pin hole leak in the coolant. thank i got everything done except for the final tuning from Mark.
BIGBLOCKBILL 06-08-2009, 07:06 PM How big of a tune did Mark write for you?
wewers8 06-08-2009, 08:24 PM dont know really its a hand full anyway. going up to see him the 19th to get real numbers. what about you?
duramaxxin73 06-08-2009, 08:39 PM dont know really its a hand full anyway. going up to see him the 19th to get real numbers. what about you?
heck yea:)
BIGBLOCKBILL 06-08-2009, 09:19 PM Just a 75hp tow tune for now. It's not even that much yet without the injectors. I may have Mark write me a 500hp or so street tune just for fun.:D
wewers8 06-08-2009, 09:26 PM i got the dp swith on mine i do believe from chasing it all over the road i may have that 500 hp for one of my tunes.
