My 6.2 in 82 burb needs rebuilt/replaced. I have a 4spd now. I want to go to a 5spd. would like to find a late 80's or early 90's 3/4 ton 2wd w/ a 5spd for cheap. Thinking of taking engine trans and all and dropping into my suburban. Good plan or not? What do you guys think?

parts trucks usually aren't worth having in regards to the engine, unless it is from back east and then there usually isn't anything left of the body. Best bet for engines right now is military take outs. Some going on ebay for about 1000.00.;)

I have one with a good engine but a 4 speed auto. The truck actualy runs better than the one I drive every day bit the body does not look good. Located in south east indiana... 800.00
