No new front end, will not get an update until late 07 as an 08 model. The 1/2 tons are getting the HD nose and the camper mirror is being deleted and replaced with a different style as posted somewhere else in here. They will still use the LLY. I also read that Dark Gray Metallic/Carbon Metallic is being deleted and will be replaced by another gray of some sort. Here is a synopsus:
Silverado 1500:
Deletions
(NYS) 4-wheel steering
(C5S) GVWR, 6600 lbs.
(62U) Dark Gray Metallic
(E62) Pickup bed, Sportside box
(DPF) Mirrors, outside rearview, power, heated, camper-style

New Features
(16U) Graystone Metallic
(46U) Blue Granite Metallic
(DPN) Vertical, manual extend, manual fold, power adjustable exterior mirrors
New Models - Extended Cab Short Box - CC15553 and CK15553
(SSI) SS Dale Earnhardt Intimidator Edition, Includes (AG1) Seat adjuster, power, driver 6-way, (P35) Wheels, 4 - 20" x 8.5" aluminum, sport, (UK3) Sound system feature, steering wheel mounted radio controls, (U2K) Sound system feature, XM Satellite Radio, and (41U) Exterior color, Black.

Changes
New Packaging Structure
1WT = Work Truck
1LS = LS
1LT = LT1 trim
2LT = LT2 trim
3LT = LT3

It says for 1/2 ton, but some other things will overlap to the HD's. I believe there will be a 6-speed automatic for 06.

With the loss GM is reporting for the first quarter, they may bump up the next generation trucks.

What is the deal on 4 wheel steering? I was wondering when they were going to put it on the 2500/3500s and now they are deleting it.

As much as we'd probably all love the 4 wheel steering, It's sadly being discontinued.

It was available on the 2500's, just not on the HD's. Mine would have it if it was available on the Dmax, that's one of the Generals biggest problems.

I am sure all of us would have loved a D-Max with Quadrasteer. I have a friend that has a 1500HD CC SB, he turns circles around my 2500 Reg Cab LB. The plain truth is that the D-Max makes too much torque for that rear end package. The tie rod ends and steering actuator aren't strong enough and would be overcome by the torque of the dmax. Not to mention the towing capacity of the vehicle would be drastically reduced. Alot of work went into designing and producing that steering system. There are many people in my area of the country that hate to see it go, not only because it is a great addition to the general's line, but because of the hard work that went into making it work.

Already been bumped up, we are starting to build dies for the new trucks.

Look like a lot of OT for the summer.

Knowing GM the Diesel option will be at least a year behind the truck upgrade. :(
