I am reviewing the R&R instructions for the Allison and ran across this:
Rotate the engine clockwise ONLY, rotating the engine counterclockwise may loosen the crankshaft balancer bolt.I assume this is clockwise if you are standing with your back facing towards that back of the truck?

Actually now that I think about it, it is a really stupid question. It would actually be the opposite since you would want to be tightening the crankshaft balancer bolt. Counterclockwise would remove the bolt.

Temporary brain fart. That's what happens when you read something without actually visualizing what you are reading about.
36mm sound about right?

I dunno but a 1 7/16 box end works, don't know what others are using. You'll be hard pressed to get a socket and ratchet in there with the shroud.

I think they were pretty good instructions and us techs need that. Problem that we techs run into is we often ignore the basics and make things more complicated than they are. Check the fuse first, Check the fuse first. ):h
