Ok im totally confused, is it just as good if you unplug the egr, or should you block it?

It's probably best to block it. There's a possibility that you could unplug the egr with the plunger open, defeating the purpose. Egr blockers are cheap too, I got mine from a vendor on e-bay, it was $13.00 shipped. I could probably track down his username, if you needed it.

If you unplug the egr when the engine is cool and has not been run, it will be closed. I ran mine with the egr unplugged for over 50,000 miles with no problems. Some have problems with the egr blocker leaking. I never saw a need for a blocker.
