im looking for a daily driver/hot rod when need be.

can the older dodge turbo diesels, like from 95 be tuned to some crazy numbers/times too? or is it just the new ones?

or should i wait until i can afford a duramax? powerstroke?

best empty mpg would be good info too

it all depends on how much $$ you want to spend. I have seen some pretty crazy 12 valvers, and some insane 24V's and Dmax's, but ya gotta pay to play.... ya might end up spending enough $$ to make a fast 12 valve to have been able to buy a 24V or Dmax. it all depends on what you are going to do and how mechanically inclined you are. those older dodges arent a simple plug and play like a dmax or newer 24V. JMHO -Jeff

The older Dodge would probably make a better hotrod for someone on a budget.
The initial cost of a Duramax is still pretty high.
