Is a 2000 1500 short bed different from an 06 2500 short bed. I have found a used fiberglass bed cover and want to make sure it will fit my 2500.

Same as long as they are both Ext cabs, 1500 CC have shorter box's than 1500 ext cabs and 2500's.

You are good. Just stay away from 900 stuff. There are way too many bed lengths and widths. Chevy and GMC use different shells within the same models.
