Anyone have info on 80's Volvo diesels wagons? (thinking 240 or 740 style).
My 2wd Suburban is way overkill for commuting. Looking mainly to get into something with a manual transmission and improved MPG while staying RWD.

hohoho
I just got the TB and waterpump fixed on it......The thing has a TB in the front, and one in the back for the IP. Tough stuff to service. Expensive too.
They do not have a good service history. Mine seems to be a good one, but they just dont have a good reputation.
They are gross polluters, and they arent overly efficient. 30 mpg at best......
Ide say go for a late 90's VW passat wagon. Much better car.

That sounds super! I get 15mpg at best with my 6.2L Burb.
I like RWD, and grew up with a 122S in the family - hence my interest in the Volvo - and the price (vs. Passat). Isn't the Volvo diesel a 6 cyl version of VW's engine?
OTOH, a 4dr Golf w/diesel might do also.
Just starting to gather information now... the Ford will need a clutch/DMF first.:(
