Moved to Electrical...

I opted for SilverStars in my fogs... can't imagine there being much out there that is a whole lot brighter... these things are incredibly bright.

I know SilverStar's get a lot of grief for short life... I've had 1 burn out in about 16 months... not too bad IMHO.

9005's (high beam bulbs) should fit in your fogs. I put the Silverstar high beams into my fogs when I switched to all PIAA Hyperwhite headlight bulbs. Like randy said, they are really bright and cover almost the same area as as my low beams. The reflector design won't allow them to be true long distance driving lights, but they sure do light up both sides of the road.

9006 will work but it takes some fabbing and not worth the time. You need to put 9145 (H3) size bulbs in there. Had you read the HID sticky at the top of this section you would have an extra $25 ;)

There is ALOT of info in there so go read it. The HZ... seller on there has bulbs for $25 or so. Thats what Im running with no problems to date. Keep your ballast and just change out bulbs. Connections will fit.

I also made the mistake and ordered the low beams for my fogs. Took about 20 sec per bulb to drill out the hole a touch larger and about another 20 sec to shave the tab down a touch. Wasnt too bad at all. Should have just sold them to my B-I-L and ordered the right ones but I was too anxious to get em in.

9005 spread light out too far and scatter more than the 9145. On 9006 all you have to do is shave down base with rotozip. Not recommended.

I just took a step big and drilled out the housing....Prefect fit. AND BRIGHT!!!!!!!!!
