If the trucks going to stand for a good amount of time I would. But if its driven daily or close to don't worry about it.

Could also drill an 1/8" hole at the bottome of the elbow under the truck and never put stack covers on....

Just wait till the first good rain when he has some miles on those stacks...that clean truck will be bleeding black crap :) He'll listen to you then!

yup thats why we cover the stacks on big trucks!! the wet soot comes flying out and onto everything!! and once the stack dry and get warm it seems like it bakes the soot onto your nice chrome finish and its a PITA to get it off!!

i figured as much he asked why i never cover the stacks on our big trucks...well simply because they're on a 90 at the end!

Rain covers, if you have straight pipes. But you probably should buy the quiet covers cuz the others will drive dad nuts!

My dad made some for me and i have been selling them to the local guys. These are snug fit and will not blow off, good quality material.
