Well took on a little project this weekend and i think it turned out quite well and am very impressed with the extremely course rubbery texture that this particular DIY bedliner has, i was quite suprised to be honest. Started with masking everything off with automotive tape, then sanded all the clear off with 120 grit. And washed thuroughly. I applied my first coat quite light and let dry for roughly 1hr and went quite heavy on my 2nd, let dry for 3hrs and came back with a medium coating to finish it off. I realize its no line-x but just couldnt justify the 1000+$ that they wanted to complete this job whereas i did it myself for 100$ plus quite a bit of work. Even if i do have too touch up once a year "doubting i will" it will still far out weigh the cost of the line-x i believe. Plus i think its nice to say that "you've" done that yourself to your truck versus paying someone to do the same job. God knows how much myself and i bet alot of you have saved doing things yourself! The rear bumper that i built was professionally line-x sprayed if your wondering. So you can compare the two, bumper has been on the truck for roughly 3 months. Ill be doing the box next weekend, and will post pictures.

Thanks!

Ya guys, very impressed it is called EZ-Liner, night and day between the duplicolor that i put on my half ton box, that shit flaked off within 2 months! Haha ya im a pressure welder, so after our shutdown at the generating station i had some spare time so i whipped up that bumper. Working on the front now.

If you were closer I would have you do mine. I would pay you twice what it cost to do yours:D

deerhunter, its quite simple to do really if you have the time. What took me the most time was peeling off that bloody chrome on the rockers wow! it wasnt just 3M tape around the perimeter it was a whole slab on each piece. Just start off by taping off exactly what you want coated, and sand off all the clear coat with somthing like 120 grit. Wash thuroughly, then apply your coats of boxliner. But be sure to peel your tape off right after your final coat while its still tacky or youll have a hell of a time removing it when its cured. Im going to be taking an angle grinder and a flapper wheel to my box just because theirs no way in hell id do it all by hand haha. Ill post pictures of the box when im complete.

Yep to each his own. i think its mainly a regional thing... i live in so cal and we like trucks clean, plain, and simple. everything stripped off and color matched is awesome.

Ya i travel alot of gravel roads, and pull big sled trailers around all winter to the mountains etc, needless too say my rockers were getting madly stone chipped and i figured this would be the most wise solution. I do love a clean looking debadged truck though!
