Well the difference between plug in modules and downloaders has been discussed here thouroughly.. The concenesus is modules trick/lie to the computer while downloaders give the computer a frontal labotomy.
I am not so sure if that is accurate. Yes down loaders raise the rev limiter,top speed limiter,tire size but are they not just tricking/liying to the computer for the tuning same as a module?
I mean do the manufactures go in there and actually rewrite the programing or do they just go in there and modify tables?
Seems to me like most downloaders just go in and modify the tables and lie to the computer.
A truly ground up program would be awesome. Maybe one company here is already doing this? Maybe not?
