Question. Do the lockable and non lockable tailgates have different base pivots? Going to get girlfriend to see if she can get a fax copy of parts list that one gets for the lockable tailgate? The tailgate that I got yesterday is a 150 Serria SLT What we saw today on a duelly had Silverado LTX on the tailgate. They both had an insert that didn't come out for the none lifting side and looked like a longatudenal rod that comes out of the tailgate. The other side just has a plastic insert that pops out. A salvage yard told me yesterday that the key for the tailgate is the same as the ignition key. is this true?

It seems to me that the the locking tailgate and tailgate have imcompaitable left side hinges. The locking tailgate has a rubber insert and the non locking has an epoxied plastic?? bushing on the pickup box.
Is there anyone with locking and non locking tailgates able to inform of the differences, for both sides of the pivots seem to be correctly marked on the pickup box, Please? The locking tailgate that I purchased seems to be backwards, any Ideas?
