: Anyone Running a 15 Inch Rim?
Sizzle Chest 05-24-2009, 01:15 PM Any of you guys running a 15 inch rim? Sounds like it can be done fairly easy on the 1500s by grinding down the calipers. Is it the same deal with a 2500HD? I want to run a 30 inch drag radial front and rear (4X4 launch) but it doesnt look like those are made for any sized rim other than 15. Checked M&H, Hoosier and MT. Thanks.
dozerboy 05-24-2009, 02:00 PM I think its going to take a lot more then some grinding to get them on there. There is only a 3/16-1/4" gap with the stockers.
got-h2o 05-24-2009, 02:05 PM Yeah good luck with that, and you can get them in all sizes. Think about it, when's the last time you saw a 15" wheel come stock on anything? Mustangs, Camaros TA's, Vettes and stuff have been 16/17/18's for years.
got-h2o 05-24-2009, 02:09 PM Here ya go, I found this in about 30 seconds:

trentnell 05-24-2009, 06:50 PM http://www.mandhtires.com/store.php?crn=71&rn=347&action=show_detail
32 in tall .

255/50/16 = 26 inch diameter
275/40/17 = 25.7
315/35/17 = 25.7
The rest are are all for 15 inch rims. Am I missing something? Thanks.

Yeah thats about the closest thing Ive found so far. Was hoping for a drag radial though and something that would tuck in the front (should have said that). I bet at 20psi that slick would look like a 30inch tire though if not less. Thanks.

Interesting, you run those all the way around? What rims? Thanks for the help.

I am running some cheap wheels from discount tire , they have about the right offset , they are behind flush with the fender slightly . yes i run them on all 4's . here is a pic of the wheels i think they weigh 24 lbs ea , not ultra light but not heavy either . i think they have 1.5's in them at least on my truck/setup anyway .

Damn... thats freaking quick for a gasser... you running twins or a supercharger? "The rest is all gasser stuff" could mean a lot... good time for a 3/4 ton gasser!
Sizzle Chest 05-25-2009, 04:37 PM 150 shot. I've also got trick flow 225 heads. 227/235 comp cam, FAST intake, headers/full exhaust, custom tuning, etc. I should be mid 11s now just keep getting rained out at the track. You diesel guys cant have all the fun!
I usually hang out at ls1truck.com and performancetrucks.net. Those are good forums for me for motor/tranny discussions. But almost everyone on those boards drives half tons so I have to come over here for suspension and wheel/tire help. I have learned a lot here lurking and appreciate the help from my diesel brethren :).
dozerboy 05-25-2009, 05:10 PM Well since your a gasser you might do some measuring. You don't have the same rear diff as us, so the rotors might be smaller.
Sizzle Chest 05-25-2009, 05:20 PM 10.5 inch 14 bolt on mine versus 11.5 right? I dont know, wasnt crazy about the grinding idea. Talking with trentnell I have some more ideas now. Might not be able to run exactly what I was looking for can probably make due with whats available. Just wish there were more slicks/drag radials to choose from for a 16 inch rim.
dozerboy 05-26-2009, 02:18 PM Ya its a 10.5
