Looks like we're going the Ford route..

It's about time. The mirrors on there now are a real POS. Not near tall enough

Looks great. Sort of Ford appearing or a streamlining of the old West Coast style mirrors. Be nice if they fit prior years trucks without major mods.

Maybe we'll get some running lights on the mirror also.

The arms and mounting brackets look a lot like the CIPA replacement mirrors currently available. The mirror heads definately look better than the current CIPA's however. Cool.

Gee, is that actually a covex mirror I see? Duh! Maybe some of the *****ing to GM for the last 6 years is finally paying off.

These 2006 mirrors are completely different than the other aftermarket stuff out there now... Should fit without an issue on the older trucks, just have to figure out the wiring...

No running lights that I have seen, just the turnsignal, heat, and power upper head. Manual slide and fold.

turn signal in the glass or on the front side like the ford? I have yet to figure out what good the signal is located on the frontside on my uncles 05 6.0. Ive yet to see it visibile during the daylight, and at night, youve got the regular signals so whats the pt?

Do they extend?

So maybe we can have factory tow mirrors and the memory mirrors with auto tilt down in reverse too!!! :cool2:

Oh no! Not elephant ears for the GM trucks too.....

I know they are functional, but damn ugly on the Fords.

I plan on buying a 06 I want them as long as they look OK. That’s the only good thing on the SD Ferds, GM might be catching on just slowly.

Thank you for sharing.
Where did you find this info?
The reason I ask is I am planning on buying an '06 and heard "rumor" that there are going to be other changes (i.e. six speed Allison, and reworked 6.6 as well). I would just like to find out what I am going to be buying. It would be cool to see/here from GM all the new "changes" for '06. The proposed changes to the 6.6 have me a little concerned....

I hate those mirrors. If I wanted west coast mirrors I would buy the ugly old metal ones. As far as I'm concerned dodge has the best tow mirrors, the ones that flip out.

About time they did something to adress the POS camper mirrors.

The more I look at them the more I envision a bird getting hit on the highway and getting stuck between the two arms on the mirror. hahaha

Great info on the mirrors. I miss my old Ford mirrors. I was towing a 30ft tag this last weekend and the current tow mirrors were 100% useless.

i was kinda hoping they would go with a redesigned version of the current mirrors that would fold up when extended, somthin more like the dodge mirrors, it would take a lotta thought and work but i think the guys at GM could do it if they wanted

Well with my impatience I went ahead and doctored up a picture to see how they would look. Tough to get the scale perfect but should look something like this:

Ugly!! - but I guess these new manual extend mirrors are functional!!!

That was one of the biggest disappointments when I received my truck. I ordered the Extra Super Special Camper Mirrors, and they are inferior to the base trim 1996 E-350 Club Wagon mirrors. Apparently designed by someone who had never towed anything before.

Hopefully these new mirrors work better and will retro.

Will these retro fit onto a 2004.5 3500 ?

I know they will mount on the door as there are no sheet metal changes to the door...the thing that may change is the wiring harness for the mirror. But...I'm sure with a little doctoring it would work just fine! I may end up ordering some through SPO and giving it a try on my '03 with the crappy power extending mirrors.

I like the looks of that, hmm, change the tailgait and you got my truck, minus the mirors and the front clip.

The 265/75 tires are only on the 3500 SRW like they are now. The 2500 HD's still have the tiny little 245's.:badidea:

Speaking of TTT mirrors...anyone know how much they stick out in the retracted position compared to the stock non towing mirrors???

They look small. I like the mirrors on the Top Kicks.
