: V2 Upgrade Update!

Just a warning for those getting the V2 upgrade. Mine for some reason did not work and I am having to send it in to be done manually.

Be sure to update all parts of EFI Live, V2 Firmware, V7.5 and V8.1 to the most current versions! If you do not so this, you may be in the same boat as me.

EFI Live is taking care of this for me and so is the seller. Nick did not sell me a bum item so no bashing him allowed, I got it through another seller. Neither EFI Live or the seller were at fault, just one of those things that happens with electronics. Updating your EFI Live software and Firmware will help to prevent this I was told. I did update mine, but I am always lucky this way:rolleyes:.

Thanks for a great product! Even though I had a hiccup with mine, I love the V2. I get to play with it tuning the new to me Burb this weekend before I send it off to be taken care of. Thanks Cindy, Paul, Ross and any of the other staff there. One question, is there going to be a V3 in the future? If so I need to save my pennies now, otherwise the GF may not be happy:eek:.

Is this a fairly new Flashscan II? Just wondering I see it mention upgrading firmware to a certain level if it is old enough to a level in the middle. Then you can upgrade to the latest firmware. Glad Nick and EFILive is taking care of you. Both great companies to work with.

Were you updating to the V8 build 55? If so it may have a bug in it. I plan to wait till I see others that have success.

I had everything updated, and it was not a bug in the system AFAIK. EFI Live and the seller are taking care of me. Just one of those freak things that happened. With the new update, I think I am the only failure. Cindy would know better, or Paul. I am just glad I am getting squared away by a great group.

Nick was not the seller on this one. Due to my family business I was able to take advantage of.......... well you know how it goes. When you have connections, it makes it nice when you really want something.

Anyways, thanks to Nick for a fun 5.3 tune for the GF's new ride. She has yet to drive it as I fear the intake gasket or something just as minor is going out, but it will rip.

I updates my v2 to the new build and scared myself, When I refreashed the usb hubs I forgot to unplug the v2 and the screen was gone nothing but blue.I loaded the v8 build and the new uploader thing and updated my v2's firm and everything came back, Was not the same as before but had more option this time around.Thought I was going to have to ship it away to get fixed.

I wouldn't mind adding a tune to the GF's 2001 Suburban 4x4, thing has a 5.3 and 4:10 rear but is a dog down low then runs up top. Make it nice if it had a tow tune and I could haul the diesel with it.

Since the inception of FlashScan V2 and upgradable firmware/bootblocks we have had on the very odd occassion a couple of units fail the upgrade process and become unusable. Sorry to hear that your unit was one of those Tony, but glad you are happy with the way you are being taken care of.

As for FlashScan V3....hmmm lets just get FlashScan V2 fully functional with standalone features, and finalise V8 software.....

Cheers
