Nope, not the CD - there's a small thermostatically controlled cooling fan in the base of the entertainment system. It makes a high-pitched (although soft) "whirrr" and will sometimes continue to run for a minute or so after the key has been shut off and even after the door has been opened to power down the radio.

Ok thanks guys, funny thing is I didn't even have my CD player on. I have mine straight piped and power tuned 65 - 85 hp so thats the music i listen to with the passenger window open 6 inches always http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/hihi.gif.
Also whenever I change tunes with the predator I lose the axle ratio that i changed to, can someone tell me what procedure to use to get it to stay. I always set mine to perfect the speedo and i'm sure theres a way to have the ratio stay between power changes....
thx

Its a cooling fan. Had it go crazy in the winter when the grill of the truck was frozen over solid with ice and snow. Had my son hook up sirius connection to the radio, and when he took the dash apart, the stock unit had a cooling fan on it.
