: Quadzilla Adrenaline
Anyone use the adrenaline with pulse monitor on a LB7 yet, i was set on the edge until i saw this and then heard about the stalling problems.
I am almost talked into a PPE and a set of guages but i am using the stock tranny, and things tend to get the best of me sometimes. I like the built in safety features that the adrenaline comes with.
ridered1515 05-22-2009, 02:36 AM from what ive read and heard, it seems like an awesome tuner! especially cause you can do custom tuning yourself on top of the already powerful tunes! and to add to that its got all the nice features, and fu fu stuff on there to protect everything...when i get a tranny instead of this EFI hype i wana stack this with my 135hp quad stealth2 :). the guy from qzilla said with these stacked they were making some crazy numbers!
Despite not hearing much about it, i decided to just give it a try.
Its here sitting on the desk at work. Might have the time to put it on tomorrow, but more than likely not til friday.
ridered1515 05-28-2009, 01:53 AM Keep me posted bro!!
DIESELMAFIALB7 05-28-2009, 09:14 AM ya me to i want to here how its does
Managed to get the chip installed today. Installation was pretty straight foward.
This is my first chipped diesel so i cant compare it to much but i am really happy with it. The power is great. All the tunes gave a noticable increase in power. I spent most of the time between level 5 (+70 hp) and level 6 (+90 hp). Couldnt tell TO much of difference between those levels, probably becuase i still have the stock exhaust and intake, which are being ordered ASAP.
In all the tunes the truck is very well mannered. Just driving around town you would have no idea there was even a chip in it, not black smoke when just cruising around. As soon as you step on it, anything over 1/2 throttle, you know its not a stock truck. It will blow a little bit of smoke if you step on it, but you have to be at or very close to full throttle.
The pulse monitor is a pretty cool little tool, i played around with the defuel % a little bit, pretty much decided 25% is about the best, anything higher and the shifts are way to slow.
Like i said, i dont have anything to compare it to but i am very happy with it. more than i expected.
craig04 06-03-2009, 11:36 PM I have had this on my pickup for about 3 months or so. I like it so far. When I first got it the custom tuning option was locked out, I JUST updated it and now it's unlocked. Is yours unlocked? I have no idea on how to set it, anyone have any ideas on what to do?

Keep us updated. It sounds like we have a suitable option for the Adjustable on the Fly crowd.
Well i have been using it for about a week or so now, no complaints at all. I just really got used to all the different "settings" and everything it has to offer.
The power is great, i seem happy with level 6 and so does the tranny. I know if i abuse it to hard i will probably limp the tranny, but i take it pretty easy on it.
I definitly think it is a good option for anyone looking for the on fly. I dont have much to compare it too, but i would purchase it again in a heart beat.
Craig, my custom tuning came unlocked but i have yet to mess with it. Being that i have the stock tranny, the tunes already in their have more than i need. Plus im not really sure where to go with the tunes anyway, i dont want to be blowing anything up. Once i get a built tranny i will be more interested in playing with the custom tunes.
craig04 06-04-2009, 10:49 PM Thanks for the reply JGO. I too dont have any tranny work done and this is my first/only chip. Keep me informed if you start messing around with the custom tunes. I have no idea on how they work.
qzilla 06-05-2009, 04:31 PM Here is some help for the Custom Tuning:
Power Levels 4-14
This allows you to determine how many settings you have on the controller. IF you choose 4 you wil have Off (stock), Mileage (always on PL01), 1/2 power, full power. If you choose 14 you have, OFF, Mileage, and then the horsepower is divided equally amongst PL02-PL13.
TPS MIN Rail Pressure:
This sets the throttle position where the Adrenaline will start altering rail pressure
TPS MX Rail Pressure:
This sets the throttle position where the Adrenaline will reach max rail pressure
TPS Min Fuel Stretch:
This sets the throttle position where the Adrenaline will start adding fuel stretch
TPS Max Fuel Stretch:
This sets the throttle position where the Adrenaline will reach max fuel stretch
Boost Scaling:
This allows you to set where the max fueling will come on at. This is still scaled by your TPS above. So if you set this to 20psi that means that as soon as you hit 20psi boost and whatever your MAX TPS stuff is set to then you will have full power.
RP Scaling:
This simply allows you to tone up or down the rail pressure. Some love rail pressure, some don't. If you don't, just turn this to 0 and it is turned off. If you love it, watch on the Pulse and scale up accordingly
MAX Fuel Stretch:
Sets the max amount of injector stretch or fuel "on" time. THe more you turn this up, the longer the injector stays open and the more smoke and power you will make. TUrn it up too high and you will run out of fuel supply to the injectors.
Want a Rail Pressure only tune? Turn this all the way down!
All of the above things take place as soon as you exit the menu. If you do not save them when you cycle the ignition all the settings will go back to the defaults. If you like your settings, then select "save tune" and choose either Tune1 or Tune2. Then "Load" whatver tune you want. You will always have the factory tune to go back to and you cannot save over it.
You can switch between tunes on the fly, just like power levels if you like.
craig04 06-05-2009, 07:17 PM Thanks for the help qzilla. If I just wanted a tune just to make some smoke when I get on it. Wheree sould I set it too?
qzilla 06-06-2009, 08:12 PM If you want it to smoke turn both your MIN's down to 0. Then turn your Max's down to say 70-75% and then start bumping up the Max fuel stretch until you get the desired amount of smoke. Just keep in mind on a stock truck at some point you will run out of fuel even for short bursts. We give you more room than the injectors can handle.
You can literally make it smoke like a train if you want, or you can make it hardly have a wisp.
I decided to try and play around with the custom tuning but i can not seem to get it to work. I can open the menu and adjusting everything but after i adjust the settings and hit enter it just goes back to the tuning menu and everything goes back to zero.
qzilla 06-16-2009, 01:47 AM You probably need some updates. Check the Adrenaline and the Pulse and let me know what version is on them.
kjsman6 06-26-2009, 11:20 PM How accurate are the readings, I.E. Egts, boost, and the others that would normally be read with gauges? I've heard that the readings through the computer aren't nearly as accurate as having a set of gauges.
craig04 06-27-2009, 01:08 AM Has the custom tuning been unlocked? They told me they dont have an update yet to unlock the custom tuning.

From every test I have done, they (electronic units like these) are accurate to within a few ° of my DiPricols on the pillar.
