anybody noticed any mpg difference with these? I'm thinking of putting one on my 07 diesel (new body style) but was curious if they made any difference or not

don't quote me on this, its my understanding that K&N filters are not recommended for diesels. the oil utilized on this type of filter can cause damage to the turbo or possibly some other component.

Ive got one on my truck. Its coming back off. Ive had it on two days and it limps the truck. Sounds like all hell under the hood though. I left mine out in the open and didnt put the top air box cover back on. Onstar got pissed when I hit he button and asked why the truck limped. They knew right away that the air box was opened up. Must be a sensor in there somewhere. They said something about air fuel mixture something something. And the dealer charges to shut the light off too. That piece of shit filter is going in the can in the morning.

guess that answers my question. I had heard about the oil from these filters, but I wasn't sure how true it was.

I would not put a K&N on anything except maybe a gasser.
I suggest a aFe proguard 7 OEM drop in (my sig.)
Unless you are planning on putting major H.P. to the motor a OEM drop in will do just fine.
And it only costs about $70-$80.
You are not going to notice much of a difference more noticable turbo spooling up and possible mileage maybe .5 mpg increase, and no codes.
That goes the same with complete intakes, except most get trouble codes.

I ran a k&n about 20 miles on mine until i got my bank system...i didnt have any problem with limping or anything it didnt really do much maby spool it a lil faster idk...just make sure the lid is on and the filter is fully in locked position...i should have went with AFE pro guard but u cant beat a $50 banks ram air that has less the 100 miles on it...i have one I will sell for bout $50 shipped lol (the K&N)

Testing was done sometime ago and the stock filter was the winner. IIRC..

I went to take mine out of the truck and it was laying loose in there. Are you supposed to reuse that rubber ring thats on the stock filter on the K&N ? I guess it doesnt matter now i put a new stocker back on. I did find the ppe programmer my buddy has turns the light off in the dash.
