This question has probably been asked too many times. I did a search on filters and being a newbee would love to see why so many posts claim fram etc is junk. Has anyone have pics or "proof" these filters are inferior. Fram's web site shows so many different filters and their abilities of doing their job. They do seem vague on each filter in different ways. Not here to talk up fram or any other manufacturer but would enjoy the proof, thanks.

Since you mentioned Purolator in your title.
Purolator are good filters.
Just buy and use oem ACDelco and Allison tranny filters and you won't have any questions, for piece of mind...
Frams are just cheap... period.
Paper end caps poor pleat gaps and thin steel...

When comparing filters read the sticky in the top of this forum on Micron ratings and that can help be a guide as to what information to get when looking at and comparing filters.
As fars a one of the above posts re: American made filters I would like to add to that Amsoils EAO filters are a top quality filter as far as Micron ratings go and are all made right here in the homeland as well as the oils and additives are all American made. :saluteusa:

Many years ago a good friend of mine brought me his Triumph GT6 to fix what turned out to be a rod knock. The car had very few miles on it and was serviced regularly. He changed his oil himself and used Fram filters. When I pulled the pan, everything looked clean except for one bad rod bearing. On closer inspection, we found a strange residue nearly clogging the oil pump pickup screen. My friend, being a chemical engineer, took a sample of the residue to work and analyzed it. It turned out to be the paper or fiber material from the Fram filter. I haven't used Fram products since. Oh, he sent a copy of the report along with a bill for repair of the engine to Fram, and they sent him a check, no questions asked.
I use Purolator Pure One Filters. Seem to work fine for me. Never cut one open though to inspect.

Correct a small portion of money goes to Isuzu for licensing but the truck and engines are made in America by tax paying Americans! Thats better than something imported and made in China!
