Does anybody know which is best for gas milage. I like the in town drivability of the 40 but need the best milage for the highway.

I like the drivablity of the 40 hp setting also. But the 65 setting gets me a little better miliage than stock while the 40 setting gets me a little worse than stock (which is strange, most people seem to say that 40 is a little better and 65 is a fair amount better). I also have an LB7 so it won't be apples to apples.

Installed my Predator first at 40HP. Ran three tanks of fuel. Gained almost 2MPG average over the stock setting on 3 tanks (all hand calc). Upped the HP to 65 and ran three more tanks. Not enough change in MPG to make it worth listening to the added 'Diesel Clatter' w/65HP. Set it back to the 40HP. Around here now back to straight #2 fuel for the summer. 60 miles a day round trip work/home stuck in the 55 to 65 MPH two lane highway. Overall average last six tanks 19.4MPG.

19.4 would be nice, I have three things against me getting that. 1 - California low sulfur fuel plus cali smog control . 2- 285 BFG's, 3 - camper shell. Best I can get on the hw is 15.5 and that is with the 40hp tune. Trying to figure out if I switch to an edge if I can get a different result. The Preditor 65hp is just to touchy off the bottom.

If you think the 65HP setting is touchy, try the 100 tune in tow/haul with a TTS converter locked up.

Hang on tight boys!

I get 17 mpg or so (hand calculated) average using either the 40 or the 60. Like Mike_in_Wisc, I have it on 40 for now because it runs quieter than the 60.

I haven't found any big gains or losses in freeway mileage with any of the tuners. Perhaps 1 mpg gain at best. Run which tune you like to drive with.

I have run this tune for a couple of days now. I really like it. Its just amazing that 40HP gives that much of a difference. If the factory tune is required to use this Predator, then I am wondering if the unit sets up different tunes for different factory tunes or flashes. In other words, if one truck has a say version 2.4.3 flash, and the another identical truck has a version 2.4.4 flash, would the Predator in turn setup different tunes for each truck based on the version of flash they have?

Back when we picked up this truck new, it ran great and was quite quiet. After the #7 injector was replaced at 9200 miles, the truck made more noise than before. I attributed this to a reflash that the tech did before the injector was replaced. Since loading the 40Hp tune from the Predator, the truck is running really great. It has a hell of a lot more power, runs smoother, and quieter, and the stink pipe seems to stay cleaner. I am wondering if the Predator has brought back in the pre injection like it had when new. Nonetheless, the truck is just right for me now.

Had been running the 40 for a few months because the 65 seemed touchy. Last week loaded the 65 back and now it does not seem that touchy and actually seems really nice. I think it was to much of a differance from stock but after running the 40 for awhile then going to the 65 it actually seems very nice and smooth. The loud rattle has also disapeared since it is starting to warm up. I'll post my milage after I get a few trips on the highway.
