Was towing this weekend with our new/used 5er on ppe #2 (through the mountains), egt's were starting to get around 1350 , so I pulled over and dropped to tune #1 egt's now at 1200 or so, my question is on banks/ppe intercoolers , who has one and what is the real world egt drop in replacing one of these?
TOW WEIGHT ABOUT 13,200
thanks

I got a good deal on the Banks and I liked it. I tow half your weight but it did the trick.

the new BD unit looks to be the best in my opinion , it has biggest area has a whole diff design of the core ( high flow ) , garenteed to hold 80+ psi . i have 2 friends running them on 700-800 hp duramaxes , it is the one i will go with eventually . its the same cost as the spearco .
the pic shows the difference of the new design vs others the top one is the BD and before some one asks no i dont not work for BD :p: just impressed by the product .

they dont make one for LBZ or LMM yet sopossed to be fall this year from what i heard , how do you like the banks , alot of people seem very happy with them ? i almost pulled the trigger a while ago on one but since i have gotten the twins EGT's arent even thought about any more , i could seriously pull the gage out , even towing , i will still get a intercooler one day , even if its just for effency .

In the LLY it helped with EGT and boost was much quicker. I'm pretty happy with the stock in the LMM. The LBZ and LMM tend to run a little lower EGT in my experience. I'm thinking of doing a DPF delete, bigger turbo, hopped up CP3 and new intercoller after my next deployment. That means tranny work too, so we'll see. My Harleys haven't gotten much attention lately.

I tow on 4 or 5 at #6500ish. I ran 70-80 from Oklahoma to Florida and Michigan a few times. I ran 1200-1300 depending on weather. I had my alarm at 1400 and saw it when I passed. I don't remember seeing 1200 unless I was passing after the I/C change.
