Now that the cooler is done I am working on a retro fit electric fan with harness and switch. This will help cool the whole stack for the Duramax that tows heavy loads. I hope to be testing it soon.

Mike, are you now starting to get the coolers out. I hadn't heard anything via PM, and was curious on status. Thanks!

if you need help testing it,If not i'll be waiting to buy one asap LOL. i pull a 40ft gooseneck trailer behind my 03 4500 gmc average load between 10,000 and 20,000. i do this for a living so i'm all over the US and on the road alot. i've been having trouble with the trans heating up. even blew fluid out a few times. i know folks think the fluid level is too high, but i drove it for several months and not a problem, never added fluid once (unless it was too full from the factory). Scary part is getting into the hotter months. I was in California about mid feb and was caught in traffic of folks trying to get out of there for the weekend and trans kept getting hotter and hotter by the minute, i kept shifting to neutral to cool things down took forever to get moving again. thought it was gonna blow any second. Glad to see theres gonna be a solution soon.

This will be an auxillary fan in front of the cooler and everything?

Anyone tried a flexalite or something instead of the mechanical fan on the motor? Seen them on newer gas trucks but not on a diesel.

Fan will be needed! I go off-road often and usually am 15mph or less. In the sand the tranny gets hot fast due to limited air flow. Desert temps in the summer are over 100 and a fan will help tons!

Looking forward to this upgrade!

I have a 300ZX twinturbo that I drag race (daily driven car running 11.4 isnt to bad, for a V6) and had problems with my new race tranny getting real hot. I already had an external cooler on it but I switched to this one here and it is amazing. I could tell when the fan kicked on just by watching the temp gauge in the car. I know it is a little pricey but I highly recommend it. The Fan is made by SPAL.
