I drained my tranny fluid and changed the filter's. And when i dumped the ATF in the bucket. There was a thin black bolt stuck to the magnet. Same bolts that you can see when looking up at the tranny .But one was not missing. Called the dealer and they said. ITs a left over. Fell in during production. Has anyone seen/heard of this and is this true. No problems w/the tranny Though. Thanks cody

wow, that's a first......http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/drop_mouth.gif
I suppose if it was dropped in there during assembly it shouldn't cause too much trouble.........usually loose parts in a tranny means http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/Throwup.gif
but if it's too big to plug anything it would just roll around in there......
Strange........scarry......but if all is well I wouldn't worry too much

Make sure the dealer documents that find, in case you have future problems down the road.

Look for any empty holes in Valvebody. If you see one, insert bolt and torque to 100 inch pounds.( snug with a ratchet and socket is suffice and close enough)

Thank you. I have found that most diesel truck owners are mature, well read, done their homework, and just want it straight. Did someone just say mature?):h :ro) :D
