roughly how much does a 01 reg cab long bed 4x4 duramax weigh, on his door it says GVW (which we thought meant gross vehicle weight) and it says 9200 but i think were just not understanding it right

It does mean gross vehicle weight, that means that is the most it should be with a load in the bed. Just go run it accross a scale. It should be around 6000 from what other guys have posted I think. My extrended cab was 6320 when I test drove it with 1/4 tank of fuel. It's 7000 with my toolbox, full fuel tank, and some mud.

My reg cab weighed at 6730 with 3/4 tank of fuel and me(160#)

dmax, allison, spray in bedliner, aluminum tool box, headach rack, plow mounts, amp, misc crap in the tool box and cab.

I'm probably a tad over 6800 now, hope to shave her to 6500 for the track

Not rrying to be anal here, but I beleive the GVWR would include everything.

People, fuel, gear, bed, tounge weight, the whole 9 yards. That is proabaly what you meant anyways?

My 03 extened cab 4x4 just weighed in at 7300 LBS. That was with 3/4 tank fuel, camper shell and gear. No people. So probally 6300-6500 as she came from the dealer.

Yeah with everything you can cram in the truck, it shouldn't be over that...
I just meant truck+payload.
Payload including anything you put in the truck including people.
