Hello all, On down the road in a couple years I am looking to maybe do a Cummins swap into my truck. I was wondering if anyone has done this or if anyone could help me get information on doing it. I have a 98 3/4 ton 4wd extended cab short bed. It is backed with the 5 speed Transmission. I really like the cummins motor but do not care for how the dodge is made. Is this even worth it or should I just take the risk and buy a dodge? Thanks for your time.

Where do you live? There is a guy on Vancouver Island (B.C.) that does exactly that. I beleive he even has twins on his! You could go to BD forums and look for a guy with the handle 24VChevy. His name is Malcolm and he is a great help.

Malcom is a great guy, he helped me with a wiring problem that I had with my swap. If you go to the Dodge TDR web site and look around on the cummins conversion forum there is lots of stuff including a bracket that someone found that lets you relocate the a/c compressor to the top of the engine so that notching of the frame isn't necessary.

If you decide to swap, you can make your nvg 4500 work with minor mods. There is no guarantee how long your output shaft will last however if you hop it up.
