Air hasn't worked in 3 years, leak is in compressor, sounds like it is coming out of the clutch area.

Can the clutch be pulled and the compressor re built?
Any special tools required?

I have have the vacuum and gauges.
The only other part I plan on buying is a new drier due to the age.

System was closed for 3 years but not sealed under vacuum. Last time I recharged the system it held the charge for 1-2 days. You can hear the leak at the clutch area of the compressor.

Not worth trying, least not in the garage. Sounds like the compressor seal has blown. Buy you a reman or new, with clutch, strainer and suction drier/receiver. If you have the A/C knowledge, go for it.
