Just got done changing filter. My Water in fuel sensor is is broke? Close to the top it looks like a stress crack.I don't know how it's been broke but it worked fine. Will I get any lights or anything if it is not working properly. Is this part very important.

thanks.

htmax,

If you're talking about the top of the plastic where it screws into the bottom of the filter, you'll know if it's cracked because it'll be leaking fuel there. I wouldn't want to tell you to run it that way if it is cracked, but not leaking, although it might be OK.

Assuming your truck is out of warrenty, you can get a new one from Eric for less than what you would pay at the dealer:

I't not the screw in or cap part . I've got good seal and no leaks. I't the part that goes into filter, with the locking washer on the end.
I'm thinking that surely chevy designed it so that if its bad sensor will go off????!
also will this be a warrenty type item. I'm still under warrenty>
