I installed 4 rancho 9000X shocks on my 2004 GMC 3500 D/A and now the left rear shock is all the way compressed and not retracting. Anyone know what is going on? thanks

That's not right, probably need a replacement from Rancho. What setting do you have them on? I would reduce to 3 or so if it's on 9 and see if it doesn't pop out.

I had rancho shocks and would have to replace the front ones every six months. Now I have Bilstein and I like them better than the rancho's. If you have green keys or cranked the torsion bars the Rancho shocks will wear out faster. No matter what setting you set the ranco at, they will still wear out if they are not in the OEM location. Remember Rancho has a lifetime warranty on their shocks as long as you are the original owner and provide an insurance card to prove it. I had to replace manny manny of front shocks and never paid anything to get them replaced.

RL, if your like me it was likely in the instructions which are usually the first thing I throw out! ):h

I don't recall any insurance card either. I do have my original receipt that shows when I purchased them. JJ :)

Hopefully a reciept is all you need. I don't have an insurance card either.:(

NO NO NO!!!!!!!!. You need your automobile insurance card like from State Farm showing that you have a truck that fits the Rancho shocks that you have. Rancho's warranty is not transferable so you need the bill of sale for the shocks (that has your name on it) and the auto insurance card to prove to Rancho that you a have truck that fit those particular shocks.

You do not even have to take them back to where you bought them. You can take them back anywhere that sells Rancho shocks. I purchased my shocks over the web and had no trouble replacing them locally.

Maybe that explaines why i was thinking these things are getting mushy on the front end! Maybe they are wore out?

Does anyone have the part # for the Bilstein's for the fronts? I have not installed my green keys yet, but I will soon. I want to change out the stock shocks and was going to put in Rancho's but lately I have been hearing otherwise. I have the Rancho's in the rear and will keep them there, but the front I want to go with Bilstein's. Will these Bilstein's work with the truck at stock height and/or with the green keys? Or is there a different part # for having it higher?

Thanks,
Jeff
