Lift pump is not always running when I shut off the motor. This is new, I could always hear it run. Runs during crank and runs while the motor is running. Good fuel pressure. Anyone have an idea for me.

Thanks,
Dan

Lift pump should only run on yours while there is oil pressure, it may be just falling off quicker than it used to, but if you say it runs while the truck runs, then I wouldn't worry too much about it. OPS are pretty much like light bulbs, they go out and thats it, they don't go intermittent.

Just a note on that lift pump, mine (1995) will run intermittently when the engine is shut off. Sometimes it will run up to 3 sec after shut-off, sometimes none. Unless mine is starting to act up (it is the original) I don't think yours is a problem. Just trying to provide a reference.

On edit: You just reminded me TDG, the LP runs off the OPS right? If thats the case, maybe that's going out on mine.

OBD-1 yes it does Silvy. But again, LP run time after shutoff is more due to oil viscosity and temp rather than the state your OPS is in. If it works, it works, when it quits...well, it quits ;)
