A buddy of mine just bought this ride, i love it except for the bumper, fire truck paint scheme, and the stake rack doesnt quite make it to the cab, its a few feet short. If i had the money i wouldve bought it.....

Am I seeing things, or has that truck had a 4X4 conversion? If so, it's a great find.

In that one pic of the front wheel, you can also clearly see it uses all 10 holes on the wheel (factory use only 5 lug hubs on front) and you can see what looks like a bit of the diff.

I thought they made 4X4 HD's Cab Chassis

U sure factory HD only uses 5 lugs? I have 8 luggers myself, non HD.

No. The HD was available only as a C3500HD.

Yes. They have 10 hole 19.5's all the way around, but only have 5 lug hubs on the front, using every other hole.

Gotcha, from factory they are not 4x4 so they didn't feel the need to 10lug the front wheels.

It is such a cool truck, i went for a ride in it. You feel like the king of the world. It sits super high, yeah, he said the fire department did the conversion when the truck was bought brand new...

Look at it real good. Definatly HD, nothing normal C/K about it other than cab and engine.

No it is an HD no doubt, you can see the soild front axle, and just the sheer size of it is much larger.

You are correct6 on the 4X4 Hd's never made from the factory all were C3500 all were done by conversoin company's

I have always wanted one of those. That is D70 front. Trucks were built by Tulsa Truck and Equipment iirc. Local FD has one. There was one with a Cummins on Ebay a while back.

Envy here too. Rare truck and a worker too. Even that space between the rack body and the cab - perfect place for a transfer tank :D

How many miles on it?

I would trade that frame/suspension over the IFS & torsion bars any day....

do the HD's do any better with overheating problems then regular? Or worse? Probably overheat like the regular ones?

The truck has a massive frame, and huge rear end and brakes. Mine has a 3-4 dump body on it, and I've never overheated. I know I have been over loaded many time's,I could tell by a screaming fan,and having the truck squating pretty low .Biggest problem is lack of power climbing hill's loaded.
I love the truck though.

I found a 92 today but it's a 454/5spd. I may grab it if it sells cheap. It's on an upcoming auction.
