I have noticed lately that my truck will make a "funny whining" noise when I let up on the accelerator. I now have my windows rolled down and can hear it all the time. It is when I barely have the pedal pushed in but if it is idleing - NOTHING. Accereration - NOTHING. Cruising around town it is very noticeable with the pedal depressed minimally. If I push harder the sound goes away.

Any ideas? Or do I need to go faster and turn up the tunes more.?

Could it be the turbocharger spinning down. I know on my truck with the 6 speed, when I let off the accelerator and mash the clutch in, I can hear the turbocharger spinning down. I don't hear it at idle, and I even hear mine rather clearly with the windows up.

It doesnt sound like that since I can keep it pretty steady with the pedal minimally pressed in. It is a PIA but so far the truck is running good.

My truck has the same noise. Has done it for some time and I do not seem to have any problems. If you figure out what it is, let us know.

It is more of a PIA thing but if it was an easy fix I would do it myself. I might turn the XM up more now!
