While driving to work at 7 a.m. this morning the old 95 decided it had enough. All of a sudden it started to sound like a n/a unit and lost tons of power when on the throttle going up a hill, no load just cruising, lots of clatter. Pulled over, blue smoke out the pipe, vapor out the dipstick tube (maybe some white, couldn't tell as it was windy as hell), engines rocking like i'm all cammed up and no place to go. No antifreeze in the oil, no exhaust in the jug? *POOF*. I don't think it has more than 15,000 km's on the new head gaskets and it hasn't towed a thing since they were done.
:wtf1:

Piston rings - compression test? -Going by the blue smoke out of the pipe.

Cracked piston would be my guess.

Yup, 2 down and 2 choices left, Acclaim or foot mobile, neither will get me to work. Either rent a truck or get the 00 going again, looks like the 00 wins for now. But i still have no IP for it or reflash to match the IP yet!
This really sucks, now i'm off work until i get a truck working.
Theres a 97 down the road for $17000, only 190000 Km's on it. Maybe they'll take 10... lol.

Your pump should have gotten to Wester's last week? Have you called them?

CanadianRigger

Paid $17,900 last year for my 98 with 120,000 Km's and I thought I paid top dollar for mine.

Yeah that ones sitting on a stealer lot on consignment, truck looks nice and its a 1500 4x4, damn near a twin to TD's, what i didn't like was the huge hitch on the back and the 5th wheel in the box with no engine mods. 10 would maybe be an OK deal.

Sorry to hear that CanadianRigger. Are you sure its totally out of order? Could this not be IP related? Clatter/smoke/loss of power could mean your fuel delivery is messed up couldn't it?

Sounds like you got watery fuel, or maybe bacterial sludge, after sitting so long..........

Truck really never sat GMCTD, longest period of sitting would have been 2 weeks but was driven and run usually 2 times a week. No WIF light. We'll see in a couple of days maybe.
Anyone want a good project truck?

Check it out - either\both will result in as-described barely-running condition.

Hmmm...and way you could let me know what they say is wrong with it before I make my offer? ;)

No problem, but in order for them to know for sure the heads will probably be off and they won't be going back on if its sold.

Its in the yard. Dealer didn't touch it beside starting it up. Figures a piston so there it sits...
Offers...

It cost me the price of a head gasket, bolts, rings and a used piston to fix mine. I still have one std. head gasket and 7 ring sets If someone would like to fix it on the cheap, Tex? I paid $35 for a piston w/ rod, dealer wanted $280 for each piston,LOL!
