All these SC and other high HP trans that people are running, are they a direct swap in and you send your back as a core, or are they just a rebuild kit?

I just am having a hard time thinking its a rebuild kit for over $3k and you have to have it rebuilt from there.

stage 3 and 4 are rebuild kits, stage 5 is a stage 4 that they build for you and you send back a core

X2. Also it depends what you want to do. SC sells a stage IV kit for$ 2780 and dealership sells an OEM rebuild kit for over $ 3000. I'm happy with my SC kit.

Most guys run a SC III or IV which is a "kit" you install into your factory trans. The Allison is not a cheap trans to play with. If you go the cheap route, you'll be doing it more than once.

I dont want the cheap route, just the easy route. lol I guess I'll go for the stage 5 that way its just an easy overnight swap. Thanks for the help......

BTW, my uncle is on his 4th stock rebuilt trans and all he has is a simple hypertech on it. He is 78 years old and drives easy too. Each rebuild has been $3800 but I think I have him convinced to go with a built one next time. lol

Find out how a stage V costs and installed and a stage IV but go to a trans builder that is highly recommended and don't go to a daily trans shop to save a couple bucks. The Allison is an expensive tranny. Click on the link below for Mike L. and give him a call he'll let you know of some-one he trusts.

I'm sure suncoast has a distributor in your area, give them a call and speak to John or Ron.
