I've been calling PCM tuners uploaders, but everyone else is calling them downloaders.
Should I give it up?
An uploader is something that has data in it, and copy it into another computer.
A downloader gets data from another computer and saves it.

A downloader, sends (downloads) it's contents to another computer. A PCM tuner would be a downloader in my books.
An uploader, reads data (uploads) from another computer. A scan tool would be an uploader to me.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. You are uploading to the trucks computer. I see where you are coming from.

I would think of AutoTap as a downloader. It downloads information from your computer.
Guess it's being nit-picky. I'll grit my teeth and call them downloaders to agree with currently used diction.

Yes, Call it a programmer, as it does both. First it downloads the stock program, then uploads the modified one.
