I am about to buy a subwoofer box for my truck and they said they needed to know whether the truck was built in Canada or the U.S. Where is the sticker that tells the plant it was built at? On my old trucks it used to say on a sticker on the door jamb but I could not find it on this truck.

1st digit of the vin
1 = Us made
2 = Canada
Having said that, I don't think any of the 2500hd or 3500 trucks are made anywhere but the states...
Also, IIRC, the 11th digit is the plant that the truck was made in.

By the way, my truck (11th digit is E) was built in the pontiac assembly plant (blue sticker on driver's door frame above the id sticker

IIRC the EC and RC trucks are built in Pontiac and the CC trucks are built in Flint along with the medium duty trucks

For 2500HD or 3500's...

Pontiac or Flint only... MICHIGAN, USA!!!

Flint is the only one building the HD Crew cab. Both plants build HD Regular and Extended cabs.

For your truck in your sig, it was built in FLINT

I bet that the stereo place misunderstood what the sub mfg said and they really meant whether it was a truck built for the U.S. or for Canada, not built in the U.S. or in Canada.

I wonder why there would be a difference in the space behind the back crew cab seat on a U.S. vs. Canada truck??

You have an extended cab, so that is possible that it was built there :D

I was just wondering since he said there wasn't a sticker on his door, maybe the guys in flint weren't as proud of his truck as the guys in pontiac were of mine.;)

Go to "Ask The Tech's" and request a vin check. You'll get all the info on where and when your truck was built. These guys are great!!!
